Sometimes You Just Have A Good Day

I lost two and a half pounds this week. My #onplanoctober fixation has produced a fantastic result. 12 days and two weigh days have produced three and a half pounds loss in total. And I haven’t done a walk for 4 days so this week was all with food optimising alone.

2.5 Pounds off this week

It was ‘Christmas Party’ taster day today in group so I didn’t get to glow and rejoice in the exultation of my success, there wasn’t enough time. If, however I lose one more pound for next week, I will shine unbearably loud and proud. I am only one pound away from my six stones award. C’mon body! Do it for me!

Lots of my followers on Instagram are also using the tag #onplanoctober to keep them on their diet. I still don’t understand Instagram at all, but I am posting every day and getting lots of reaction. Ninety-Nine Followers so far. Some of my Instagram friends like Jan and Harriet have thousands of followers. How do they do that?

Hang Your Christmas Baubles

Our consultant, Jasmine, handed out cardboard Christmas baubles today with instructions to write on the back of them your personal goal to achieve by Christmas. I have written down ‘Achieve Target’ having been somewhat buoyed up by this week’s loss. It’s a tough ask, but 15 pounds in twelve weeks sounds possible.

Jasmine also encouraged us to hang our baubles in a place of significance. I have never hung a bauble anywhere so I looked forward to a new experience with not a little anticipation. I have put mine in the fridge, this being the location of many a temptation. In the event, the process of hanging my bauble did not live up to expectations, buy hey, you can’t have everything. My bauble is hung – never said or done that before!

My New Fitbit Ionic

Some of you will know that my mum lives with us since we moved to South Wales. This has taken some adjusting to for all of us, but we are doing well and coping with it admirably. It means that she knows a lot more about our lives than ever before. In conversation I mentioned that there was a new Fitbit that did all sorts of wonderful new things as well as record my steps and heart rate.

My mum immediately decided that I needed one and ordered it for me through Amazon. My mum is eighty-nine next month (Don’t tell her I told you) and orders all her shopping online and has her own Facebook profile. She sends and receives emails and spends much of her day online with her Samsung tablet or laptop computer reading the news, watching videos and generally keeping up to date with things. I no longer need to follow the news as she keeps me informed on all major world events.

She presented me with my new Fitbit this afternoon and it is quite brilliant. Thanks mum. It is much more sensitive and responsive than my Fitbit Charge 2 which up until today I thought was cutting edge. I suspect my new Fitbit Ionic is also highly accurate. I will walk to our local shop in the morning to check it. Just over a mile and I’ll take it easy.

This website is all about my Slimming World diet. I started the diet in February 2016. I kept a detailed diary of what happened in my first year. This has now been published as a book called 'The World Of Slimming'
